LG is a bit simpler than Samsung โ no app-store rejection, just Developer Mode via ares-cli (LG's official npm tool). One-time setup + yearly renewal.
Steps
- 1Create an LG Developer accountSign up at webostv.developer.lge.com โ free, no card required. You'll need this username in the next step to enable Developer Mode on the TV.
- 2Enable Developer Mode on the TVOpen the Developer Mode app, sign in, and toggle Dev Mode on. Note the IP address and the passphrase.๐ก Write down the IP + Passphrase โ you'll need both in step 4. The passphrase resets every time you re-enable Dev Mode.
- 3Install ares CLI on your computerOne-line install via npm (Mac, Linux, Windows):
npm install -g @webos-tools/cli
๐ก If you get permission errors, use a local prefix: npm config set prefix ~/.npm-global - 4Add your TV as a deviceRun and add your TV with the IP and passphrase.

- 5Install Mizo Player .ipkOnce you have the .ipk file from us, run a single command:
ares-install --device tv1 MizoPlayer_0.1.0_all.ipk
- 6Find your MAC + activateOn the TV: Settings โ Network โ Wi-Fi Connection โ Manage Connections. Then sign in via Manage Playlists below with the MAC + Device Key shown on the app screen.
- 7Launch from the home screenYou'll find Mizo Player in the bottom apps row. If it doesn't show up, reboot the TV once.
After installing
Open Mizo Player on your TV โ a screen will show MAC + Device Key โ then sign in here:
