Install on LG

Steps

1. 1

   Create an LG Developer account

   Sign up at webostv.developer.lge.com — free, no card required. You'll need this username in the next step to enable Developer Mode on the TV.

   Enable Developer Mode on the TV

   Open the Developer Mode app, sign in, and toggle Dev Mode on. Note the IP address and the passphrase.

   💡 Write down the IP + Passphrase — you'll need both in step 4. The passphrase resets every time you re-enable Dev Mode.

   Install ares CLI on your computer

   One-line install via npm (Mac, Linux, Windows):

   npm install -g @webos-tools/cli

   💡 If you get permission errors, use a local prefix: npm config set prefix ~/.npm-global

   Add your TV as a device

   Run and add your TV with the IP and passphrase.

   ares-setup-device --add tv1
   # IP: <your TV IP>
   # Passphrase: <from step 2>

5. 5

   Install Mizo Player .ipk

   Once you have the .ipk file from us, run a single command:

   ares-install --device tv1 MizoPlayer_0.1.0_all.ipk

   Find your MAC + activate

   On the TV: Settings → Network → Wi-Fi Connection → Manage Connections. Then sign in via Manage Playlists below with the MAC + Device Key shown on the app screen.

   Launch from the home screen

   You'll find Mizo Player in the bottom apps row. If it doesn't show up, reboot the TV once.
